The Breakthrough and Advance of China's Particleboard Export Market in 2024
Release time: 2025-02-21Views: 0

In 2024, the export data of China's particleboard was released. The export volume reached 840,000 cubic meters, an increase of 34.61% compared with the previous year, and the export value was 300 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%. This growth trend reflects that the competitiveness of China's board industry in the international market is gradually increasing, and it also means that the industry is facing new opportunities and challenges.

Looking at the reasons for the export growth, the global economy gradually recovered in 2024, and the demand in downstream industries of board such as the construction and furniture manufacturing industries picked up. Chinese enterprises have increased their investment in the renewal of production equipment and the improvement of processes. The board produced by some enterprises has reached the international advanced level in terms of environmental protection indicators and physical properties, laying a solid foundation for export growth.

In emerging market countries such as Nigeria, Chile, and Vietnam, with the rapid development of the economy and the acceleration of urbanization, the construction and furniture industries are booming, and the demand for board and other building decoration materials has increased significantly, providing a broad space for the export of China's board. Compared with 2023, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates dropped out of the top five in terms of import volume, while Chile and Vietnam entered the top five. This reflects the dynamic changes in the demand structure of the international market. The rise of emerging markets is reshaping the international market pattern of particleboard.

However, the export of China's particleboard also faces many challenges. On the one hand, the international market competition is fierce. Countries such as Thailand and Brazil are also major producers and exporters of board. These countries have certain advantages in terms of raw material costs and labor costs, and directly compete with Chinese products in the international market. On the other hand, trade protectionism is on the rise. Some countries have set up trade barriers, increased import tariffs, and implemented anti-dumping investigations, which have increased the difficulty and cost of China's board exports.

In order to meet these challenges, Chinese particleboard enterprises need to further strengthen technological innovation, increase product added value, optimize the product structure, and develop more products that meet the needs of the high-end market. At the same time, actively expand the international market, strengthen cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and diversify market risks. The government should also strengthen policy support, create a good export environment for enterprises, help enterprises deal with trade frictions, and promote the continuous and healthy development of China's particleboard industry in the international market.
